How do I apply for a visa extension?
Our Center provides the necessary documents for Chinese Language Center students to apply for a resident visa and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC). Students must register with the Center three days before the expected date of document collection.
(I) Extending Your Visa After Arriving in Taiwan

(II) Required Documents for Visa Extension
- Passport
- Original Certificate of Enrollment (provided by the Center)
- Certificate of Attendance (provided by the Center)
- Visa extension fee: Free
Important Notice
- Absences, including approved leave, must not exceed one-quarter of the total class hours in one semester.
- If your visa has already expired and you wish to extend it, your application will not be approved. You will be required to pay a fine and leave Taiwan to apply for a new visa.
- A visa can be extended a maximum of two times. After that, you may either leave Taiwan or apply for a resident certificate.
