Application for Chinese Language Study Visa Students
If you plan to enter Taiwan from abroad and apply for a Chinese language study visa, please carefully review the application process and submit the required documents to the Chinese Language Center through the online application form no later than 6 weeks before the course begins.
※ Students applying for the "Regular Program" must be at least 18 years old.
※ Eligibility for admission to the Chinese Language Center does not guarantee eligibility for a visa. Please consult the relevant Taiwan overseas mission regarding visa application requirements before applying.
Document Submission
Please submit the following documents to the Chinese Language Center at Chihlee University of Technology through the online application form 6 weeks before the course begins. Late applications will not be accepted.
Required Documents:
- Admission application form (Click here to complete)
- Copy of the highest diploma and academic transcript (both must be translated into Chinese or English; the diploma copy must be notarized by a Taiwan overseas mission)
- One copy of your passport
- Three 2-inch passport photos
- Bank financial statement in the student's name (account in the home country, with a balance equivalent to at least NT$80,000)
※ After uploading all required documents, please proceed to pay the NT$1,500 application fee.
This fee will be deducted from the tuition after official enrollment.

Visa Application and Payment of Related Fees
After receiving the application documents and deposit, the Center will review the materials and, if everything is in order, issue an admission letter within one to two weeks.
After receiving the documents, please visit your local Taiwan Embassy, Taiwan Consulate, or Taipei Economic and Cultural Office to apply for a "Visitor Visa for Foreign Nationals Coming to Taiwan to Study Chinese."

Estimated Expenses Before Coming to Taiwan
- Taxi fare: approximately NT$1,000–1,500 (from Taoyuan International Airport to Chihlee University of Technology)
- Tuition and registration fee: NT$30,500
- Textbook fee: approximately NT$800–1,000
- Rent: approximately NT$10,000–18,000 per month for a private studio apartment in Banqiao District, New Taipei City
Important Notes
- After arriving in Taiwan, you must maintain close contact with the staff of the Chinese Language Center. If you become unreachable without a valid reason, the Center will report the situation to the National Immigration Agency.
- The Chinese Language Center does not provide dormitory accommodation. If you need assistance finding housing, please inform us in advance, and the Center will provide contact information for housing agencies.
- The course schedule may be adjusted according to the Executive Yuan's official calendar.
- Since national holidays are not included in the course period, the semester may start earlier or end later.
After receiving the admission letter, if you have previous Chinese language learning experience (more than one month of Chinese study), the Center will proactively contact you to arrange a placement test.
The test evaluates listening, reading, and speaking abilities. Based on the results and your learning needs, the Center will arrange the most suitable course for you.
