● Opening a Bank / Post Office Account

If you need to open an account during your studies, please prepare the following documents before visiting the bank.

Required Documents:
  1. Original Passport
  2. Certificate of Enrollment (Student Status Certificate)
  3. Alien Resident Certificate (ARC).
    If you do not have an ARC, please take your passport and student certificate to the National Immigration Agency service station to apply for a "UI No." (Uniform ID Number).
  4. Personal Seal (Chop)
Note: Banks have strict review processes for opening accounts. Usually, you must have a valid ARC to apply.

● ATM Withdrawals

To avoid carrying large amounts of cash, it is recommended to apply for international withdrawal functions on your personal debit card in your home country before coming to Taiwan. Upon arrival, you can withdraw cash from ATMs marked with [Cirrus] or [Plus].
